I haven't seen this thread until now - that is a great little tree. You've nailed the naturalness I reckon. Have you done anything to the deadwood? Reminds me of a tree recovering from a bushfire.

Hi Greg. The dead wood was treated with lime sulfur and painted with Japanese ink last year to give it that dark look we see after bush fire.

Thanks, looks great - you nailed the bushfire look. I've done similar things with lime sulfur and black Indian ink - not sure if there's much difference between Indian ink and Japanese ink but I might have a play around with each.

The ink I used is called Sumi ink.
