Re: One of my pots
Thanks Jon, I'm glad you understand. Some people come up to me at shows and pump me for information and it's so obvious that they want to copy my pots. I used to give out the how-to's until I saw some badly made copies of my domesticware being sold at a market. A gallery owner I supplied saw them too and thought they were mine. It took a while for me to convince her that they weren't and to re-build the trust. My work was being sold in a couple of places in Brisbane and Mt Tambourine too.

Re: One of my pots
Thankyou very much for the offer Penny! But i have no way of getting to Newcastle. I do, however, visit Ray's very frequently. I will check back often to see what is there.mudlarkpottery wrote:Hi Jayc.
No, I didn't find it and searched all the boxes and went through all the newspaper in the faint hope it might have flicked into one, but it's gone. Don't ruin the little pot, I can make some that size with holes and feet and the glaze on the outside. I have a firing to do soon, I'll make some tomorrow and put them through. What colour would you like? I'm not trying to make you buy, I can have them here as extras. Ray nesci had some for sale. I don't know if he has ant left. Thanks for the compliment about my pot.

Are you a long-term member of this site? If so, how do you feel about custom pots? I think in about a years time i will need to purchase more pots as my trees advance, and i would like my "special" ones to have a special home.
Thanks alot!

Hi Jayc. I can freight them to you. It's probably cheaper than fuel. I do custom orders all the time.

Hi Jon.
That size approx 32cm x 20cm, is $20. The pieces at the back and behind the mondo grass are broken bits glued to the main pot. This was originally assembled - glued and potted up, by another member and given to me a couple of years ago.

Very nice and very reasonable price - Thank you Penny. I would like one like this but a bit bigger 45cm long by 30cm wide.

Re: One of my pots
Hi Jon. I make three sizes SLS - approx 17cm x 16cm, $6, MLS - approx 30cm x 18cm, $20 and LLS - approx 40cm x 24cm, $35. The lichen glaze is an optional extra. I can custom make sizes. The limit is the size of my kiln. I use Fastways Transport, so you can find out how much it will cost to get pots to where you are. I'm a standard user. This should give you a rough idea - the actual cost depends on the size of the box. That answers your question Aaron - Fastways ship to Tassie.

Re: One of my pots
Aaron, I deal with Fastways with my domesticware and buy a book of stickers. It works out cheaper than one-off freight. It works out to $22 per 5kg and $4 for each 5kg extra if it's delivered to Hobart or Launceston. It's $33 per 5kg and $4 extra everywhere else in Tassie. The same for WA. The "weight" goes by weight or volume - whichever is the greatest and being pottery, it'll be volume. Unfortunately, when dealing with Fastways and the Christmas rush, there is a greater likelyhood of breakages. Fastways is the only Australia-wide courier with insurance so I'm stuck with them.

COPE also carries insurance, though they can be expensive.
http://www.cope-transport.com.au/
See their conditions page. Up to $10,000 cover.
Good for those expensive pots we sometimes want to send.
