Re: Pot preview
Some more samples from latest kiln firing, some glazes this time. Still some refining to do but getting there!
First 2 are my favourites!

Re: Pot preview
I like the 1st and 3rd. I've never been a fan of shiny pots for Australian natives. Prefer the rugged look of a more natural earthy feel. Like what Pat Kennedy and Janet Selby do a lot of. Joann has done some nice ones too recently. She'll be able to presumably sell these now. Tell her, nice job.

Re: Pot preview
Thanks for the positive feedback guys
Marg Fenn is the potter. If anyone is interested there are a few of these pots on the shelf at Bonsai Sensation currently(except the second one pictured, which I kept for myself! ). I think she was still intending these to just be glaze tests - but if someone likes them enough to put a tree in them then she is happy to make them available.

Re: Pot preview
Good stuff. Do you take order for Sydneysider? What size pots are they?
I have been looking for local produced bonsai pots as i don't like the quality in the made in china pots. All the glazed pots are excellent

Re: Pot preview
Hi Subie, these are all smaller pots (~140mm), she was testing glazes so didn't want to make larger pots just yet until she was confident the glazes would be ok. Next firing should have some larger sizes I think. She has some unglazed ones in slightly larger sizes available at Bonsai Sensation.subie23 wrote:Good stuff. Do you take order for Sydneysider? Not sure if Tien does mail order? I hope to put some for sale online from the next kiln firing for those that cant get to Bonsai Sensation to buy them in person.
She's trying! Its apparently very hard to get suitable clay here like they have in Japan and China for more traditional styled unglazed pots. It's taking some experimentation to work it out using what's available. She's not quite there yet but hopefully soon - Tien and John are providing some very good feedback in trying to develop the unglazed pots. I've even dug some natural clay from my property in West Gippsland to try?!treeman wrote:Some very nice work there. Is it possible to make the unglazed pots darker in colour?

Re: Pot preview
Hi
It is appropriate to get an idea of how much these pots are?
I apologize for being naive, but is it possible to make direct orders from the maker or you must go through Bonsai Sensation or are they one and the same?
