Hi potters

Just wanted to mention, we have not stipulated that entries must have certain dimensions. It is entirely up to each individual potter what size pot they create.
Please remember all entries will be on a rotating display during Bonsai Week, so plenty of opportunity for potters to get exposure for their creations.

Cheers
Leigh

Paul, the invitation is open to all potters to put their works forward and I know of a few potters who have works in progress to exhibit them. As long as they all come out of the final firing OK I think we can expect quite a few. But you understand I can't speak for the potters this is just a little bit of gossip I have gleaned.

Thanks for the info Watto, was just trying to stir them up a bit,as most of them are very quiet, apart from Mr Pat Kennedy who has shown a bit of interest, I think it would encourage people to come down if they knew a few would be exhibiting,I know I would :tu:

Hi Paul

Yes, this competition and display will definitely go ahead. Make sure you get along to Bonsai Week to see what our Aussie potters have created.

Cheers

You’ll have to take us on trust Paul. Just because the potters aren’t shouting from the rooftops doesn’t mean they aren’t beavering away in secret. Not only are many of the usual cohort hard at work there are also potters from further afield trying for a share of the spoils.
Whether they produce anything is in the lap of the gods but l’m looking forward to seeing some pots right out of left field.

Paul, we all know that potters squirrel themselves away chucking mud around and rarely stick their heads out but think we will see some cracker pots. Looking forward to seeing the expertise of our local potters on display.

I have no idea what just happened but I feel sorry for you ... thanks for the post - it was quite exciting to read ... I am pretty sure I’ve seen a thermocouple break while watching Bathurst or even a shuttle launch. ImageImageImage

The thermocouple is what tells you how hot it is. But it doesn't necessarily tell you that it's not working. Not a happy moment. Weeks of work can be heard exploding deep inside the beast. If you're lucky, the parts fly everywhere and stick onto all your other pots, whose glazes have melted just in time. Sigh.

Not long to go now. The "mad mud chuckers" would be down to the final firing if not already done so looking forward to many pots on display.

Completed my final firing yesterday and now have some pots to choose from. I found the challenge to write a hundred word description probably harder to do than actually making the pot.
