Exciting Week, the Kiln is Open
Kiln opening is the most exciting (and nervous) time for a potter, even an amateur like me. Still loving the pot making and must thank my teacher again for the patience that I have been shown.
I have the mad ideas and my teacher steers me in the direction to achieve my goals. Enough bull dust, here are a couple of the latest attempts.

You seem to be a quick learner, each time you post your latest there is a noticeable improvement. Must be nice to design a pot with a particular tree in mind. Look forward to seeing more.
Peter.

I love the colour with the hint of green at the bottom on the first one

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. When people like your work it is very satisfying.
Note to self - it is very difficult to hand build a rectangular pot to get it square and keep it square. I understand now why most rectangles are made in a mould but it is a bragging point when a hand built rectangular pot comes out of the kiln and it looks OK. I know I need to wait until about August next year to use it so that will be a long wait.

Good for you Watto, keep working on your pots, I particularly like No. 1. what you have experience with rectangles is very true.
