I always dip them till all bubbles stop rising. I know then they are fully watered and that the water penetrates down to the lower roots which encourages feeding roots to be deeper in the pot and not just surface roots if always watering overhead. Dip watering is the best for feeding as well. liquid feeding.

Do not allow pot to dry out.
Keeps moist and use a tray in summer if needed to keep sufficient water in the mix
