Hi all, I purchased some Mulga (Acacia aneura) aneura means without nerve. (Apparently no observable vein on/in the leaf)

Anyhow I have never tried this plant before , so let’s see how it goes. This will be a thread updated every year or significant news.
They grow in super dry areas of Australia and are tough. Of the 4 plants, 3 are silver blue, 1 is greenish(with slightly smaller leaves and a little more compact. We will see how they perform over a longer period.
I am intending to pot them on tomorrow and check out root structure and trunk .
So far the only possible downside is there seems to be slight reverse taper at base where it has not barked up yet.

Yes, best of luck with them, I think they should become a classic Australian species. I've found they need generous pot room when they get into a bonsai pot, and they like open air and plenty of sun. Mine have sulked throughout the La Nina years.

I repotted the greenish one and it had a poor root system, quite unstable. I posted it a t a new angle after spreadind and positioning roots and support trunk till its stable. One of the greys looks like it is stable and will make a good small bonsai. It may go into a terracotta pot first.

The Three grey ones had better roots and i potted them up into terra cotta pots.. should be good.
