Branches dropping (Babingtonia Virgata).

Post by boom64 »

Hi All,
I have been having some trouble with several Babingtonia Virgata. These plants were collected two years ago(winter 2010 ).They have been in the same pots ? They took there time but slowly bounced back. This year i re potted some of the bigger ones but not these small ones.I have several more but these are O.K..Lately i have noticed an odd branch dieing, but now there are more and more dieing. Any ideas about what to do ,maybe a repot ? :lost:
Cheers John.

G'day John,

Have they dried out for a period of time?
I have found that mine tend to die back if not kept moist. One of may smaller ones sits in a gravel humidity tray over the hotter months.

Regards,
Steven

I am inclined to agree with Steven on this one, I have 4 of them and I had this happened once, from drying out, so I now make sure they do not.

Cheers :2c:

Hi Steven and Pup.
Thanks for the reply.I have all of my Babingtonia Virgata sitting on a wet bed, although there has been a few occasions when it has got very dry .I will make sure it stays wet. Hopefully this will do the trick. Cheers John.
