Really nice tree. Love it
A stick in a pot is better than no stick at all. Remember even the best bonsai started as a stick.

Re: Progression of an old Little John
To be honest, I don't really like these trees as bonsais.
But this tree is inspiring.
Decided to chop one down after seeing this thread haha

Re: Progression of an old Little John
It's taken me til now to realise you've turned it a little from the original. I love how it's added a totally different curve to the trunk. Like the new pot, the latest photo really shows how it works with the colours. Beaut tree, thanks for sharing!

Re: Progression of an old Little John
Here's my final update in this thread as the tree was sold at the 2017 AusBonsai Market to GavDoug.
It was sad to see him load it into his car but it was necessary for my to move on some of my tree's. I feel I have worked this one to the best of my ability and it was time for it to go to a new home.
Regards,
Steven

Such a cool tree.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

I have always loved this tree. Such a great job, very inspiring. I'm going to get a few LJ's planted out & start working on them.

This tree is perfect. I've saved the latest photo of it to use for inspiration when it comes to styling the Little Johns I have. Thanks for sharing!
