Arrogance bites you in the butt!

Post by Elmar »

I'm a little ashamed that after bragging that I am doing a good job of keeping my trees alive, this happened:
Cal dryazabone 1.jpg
Cal dryazabone2.jpg
Cal dryazabone3.jpg
Hope you have some positive feedback on the chances of revival of these trees. Looks like its the second time around for these two as their main stem extends way past the green at some stage and that had died back…

Its only affecting these two out of all of them so not sure what the issue might be? Just checked the rest and they haven't missed a beat. not sure if I should repot them and clean out there roots then putting them into Bonsai soil to see if there is anything at the roots. I know that most have done their trees around November/December so this may not be the time…

Thank you for your feedback.

elmar,

Chin up, we all do it.

I have killed a few myself.

Feels terrible.

But not past redemption. I am sure someone can give you an answer, don't know them myself.

Regards

Rae :fc:
My grey hair is my solar panel, as with the leaf on the bonsai is theirs.

Never throw a bottle brush or Melaleuca away for at least 2 years. You say I make it look easy, the upright tree in that post is called Houdini because 4 times it Died or some people thought well here it is.
If you search for Houdini you will see progression of it.

Cheers Pup

You say only 2 of the 6 are affected? I was going to say maybe overwatering but this probably isn't the case. Are they all out in the same area? Full sun or part shade? Are all 6 in plastic pots like the two pictured?
