I've just been through all of the posts in this thread and love both your pottery work, your pot choice outside of your own work and the beautiful trees.
Nicely done.

I posted this tree in October and said I was planning on letting a sacrifice branch grow so I could then do some work on the apex. That has all happened but as well the cheeky little so and so chucked out a couple of flowers into the bargain. These are tough and rewarding.

Its been a while since I have made a post on this topic but work has continued. In October I moved another tree from its colander into a pot so I thought I would share.

The "twin trunk" that I said I was going to remove one of the trunks, well that has been done and also I repositioned it in the pot - you know a new front.
The root growth for just one year was terrific and I am taking some credit as I must be looking after these well.
Anyway, enough self praise, here are the photos of the newly positioned tree. It is a bit sparce but I am confident it will fill out soon.

Wonderful tree Watto. The pot is very cool too, is it one of your own creations? I've started a couple of shohin callistemons myself so i will look for directions as your trees progress :tu:

Its been a few weeks so time for the next update.
I did allow this to flower this year (just showing off really) and it had about 10 flower spikes all up but most had to be pruned before the first bonsai pot for this one.
All the ones from the start of the experiment are now potted.

The original "control plant" from the start of the experiment has continued to be neglected but this year has rewarded me with some lovely flowers. I've said it before and I will say it again, these are a tough species. Love them.

Probably the last post for this thread.
My aim at the start was to get some Aus natives as shohin bonsai and to exhibit them and that came to fruition at the Canberra native exhibition a couple of weeks ago. I was delighted to see them arranged properly and now they are all ready for the "real" ramification process which should start this coming spring.
Hope you enjoy! :flag:

Today I had a tidy up of a few of the trees that were in this experiment.
Some aren't too bad but most of these will be on the for sale bench probably at the Goulburn bonsai exhibition later this year, or maybe the Canberra bonsai exhibition in October but for now a few photos after the summer trim.
