callistemon citrinus "White Anzac"

I purchased this plant in 2019 as reduced price nursery stock. It responded well to a harsh root prune and a bit of branch "work" [few snaps]. Thought I'd give it a go to try and see if I could get it to bloom. This year it has rewarded me. Took 2 months for the flowers to develop. Ends up being very easy material to work with so far. Can recommend

This is a progression thread for bottlebrush "White Anzac".

Thanks for the info and photos. Impressive flowering.
This is good news about the ease of development as I bought a couple a few weeks ago. I will watch the progression with interest.

Update exactly 6mths later & this plant is now entering summer flowering phase.
It was planted in a bigger pot to help increase base trunk size.
All growth has been left untouched while this is happening.
Although it's a bit of a bird's nest on top, the trunk is thickening really well.
Keeping calm...

Further update on this as its been over 2 years.
It was re-potted back into a smaller container last year as I was too impatient about letting it grow on.
Now just coming into a flowering period for winter.

I think the lines are clearer in the third photo, very nice! And that pot suits it very well. When do you stop pruning, and when do you fertilise to get the flowers? I can never manage it, probably because I keep cutting...

I cut just behind the flower heads when they finish, otherwise the stem extends rapidly and the nuts form. Other branches just get snapped off when they extend too far. This species naturally wants to grow wider than tall so it can get leggy quickly. I've been very lazy with my fertilizer routine. :palm: However apart from some chook poo through the warmer months, I had been using liquid potash approx every 2-3 weeks. Another flowering update for this one.
Do yourself a favour & get your mitt's on one of these if callistemon is your thing.

Stunning combination of plant and pot.
Looks like you have mastered the care of this tree.
Awesome and will be on the look out for one.
