Coupla Callistemons

Hi all,

I thought I would post the two Callistemons I collected the other day.
I guy was clearing some land and I managed to get them excavated and for free. These are the largest trees in my collection so far and the first Callistemon that collected from the wild. I’ve built two pallet grow boxes for them and potted them in akadama with a tiny bit of premium potting mix cause I ran out of akadama haha, so far so good.
Let me know if anyone has any tips!

Cheers,
Pat

I like the look of the second one. Nice base and movement.

Some nice stuff there, and looks like plenty of feeder roots so I'd be surprised if any of these didn't survive the dig. Keep them well-watered - you often see callistemon growing wild along creeks, sometimes right on the edge where they'd be covered by occasional floods, so they like the water.

They both look promising. With the first one I would remove the small lower right branch, or you could get a bulge in the trunk there., but otherwise , :imo: they're OK .
Cheers, Frank.

Yeah I was thinking that and eventually I would tip it on a 45 angle to get some new lines.
