Casuarina Cunninghamiana 1

15 April 2013. The above picture was a cutting from one of the Casuarinas that one of Ray Nesci's students worked on from a dig. The above photo was taken on 15 Apr 2013. Steven (admin) believes it is a Cunninghamiana, so I'll go with that. I didn't have many Casuarina stock at the time, so I took a crash course in them, and purchased quite a few. I believe in jumping right in to trial something new. As I slowly started to grow this little guy, I realised, I have never seen such fine foliage on a Casuarina before as this.

21 October 2013. After the initial cut of the second leader and the removal of the first leader, it became apparent that the foliage would get even thinner, to less then a tiny needle thin... (loving it!). It has absolutely sprouted everywhere with teeny tiny growth all over the trunk, so I am very happy with its progress so far.

Apparently I lied, as I realized I in fact wasn't as happy with this one, so I've started from the base up...literally.
