Is it too late to air-layer a Lilly Pilly?

Post by sheepdawg »

Hey, just wondering if now is a suitable time to layer a Lilly Pilly branch, or should I wait until spring?

Thanks

You can set an air layer at any time really, how long it takes to develop roots on the other hand is another matter. I would think that Lilly Pilly is capable of producing roots reasonably quickly at this time of year - I'm guessing it will be a while before winter kicks in up Toowoomba way! If not ... just leave the layer on for longer. I would say give it a go, I like your chances. :fc:

With the current weather and the outlooks I've looked at, I don't think Toowoomba will be getting winter for a good while haha
