Got this Lilly Pilly from FP discounted from $149 to $15!!!
Was rootbound and some small branches had died off.
Not much up top worthy of an air layer so just chopped and trimmed the roots a bit and replanted.
Wired a new leader and wired down a branch that was vertical.
Any ideas for future development?

hi mate, that is a great base to work with!
being a LP i would have probably taken the heavier big branch down lower a bit with your wiring, but this should come up tops mate
nice find and great price !

Cheers Jamie,
My first attempt at wiring with raffia!
Heard a small crack bringing it down to that level
.About 80 degree change so thought I would hang off for a bit.
The trunk just above the roots is approx 60mm and was chopped from 1.8mtr to approx 200mm.

gday man
all good, better safe then sorry, i would be tempted to cut the foliage on that branch down by half, feed well and then you should get some good backbudding and you can shorten the branch to a new shoot, this will not only give more flex but also a nice tapered branch, tapered branches help with overall composition
