I got this cheap at a.nursery cause I thought it would make a nice bonsai.

I cleaned it uo a little and.cut the top of.the pot off.

Any suggestions in further pruning shaping?

Well I got impatient.

Tuned it out alot more and found an okay trunk line I think. Put it in a pot I had and I think it looks good.

I think branches will need to be cut back hard to stumps and more removed to progress it further???

Ild leave it alone now to establish in the new pot and thicken the branches. No need to remove any more branches unless there is more than one coming from the one spot. Come spring time you can cut it back hard. It looks like one of the compact varieties so should back bud furiously.

Also hoping fir some.of the semi exposed roots at the base ti thicken up to improve the base.

I agree with giving it a rest to recover. As it develops you will find there are too many branches so some can be removed but let it recover from this shock first.

That looks like some starweed growing in the moss. My advice is to get rid of it now because it spreads and will take over in no time.

Nice find, good progression

Good start by thinning out to see what you've got to work with. As said above eventually more branches will be removed but in the mean time come up with a future plan and re assess come spring

Yep I'll enjoy as is.till spring and the rat this thing grows I'll cut back super hard and reduce number of branches too

Okay I'm stuck on what to do with this.

I believe mist of the branches are out of proportion. Thicker ones up top etc.

I've rubbed off the new shoots a few times. It's due to.donagain.

Always hard from a photo but was thinking to chop everything above the first wired branch on right( keep low left branch) . Reposition the first right branch slightly to the left and then bend the left forked branch further left to be new leader..... Clear as mud!
