Mangroves?

Post by elfkin »

Has anyone tried growing mangrove trees as bonsai? I was thinking about collecting some seeds with the idea of making a forest. Maybe in a riparian planting or with second tray for periodic inundation of water.

I brought some germinating seeds home from the coast many years ago.
They did not survive long but I don't know if that was lack of salt, lack of changing water levels, climate or something else.

Why not give it a try and see what happens.
