This is an update on the pjf after defoliation. I did have pics of it trimmed but the post disappeared when there were the server issues. I'll also include the trim pics too. Comments welcome.

Re: Port Jackson Fig
The branches are very graceful, to me. And the texture of the pot matches the texture in the trunk!
Thanks for posting.

No problems and thanks for the comment. Just need to keep pinching and try and keep it compact!

Recently defoliated, trimmed, and wired this one. A few branch sections were removed .... i think for the better... and the aim is to keep on top of this one more closely than the last year... Got a bit out of control with shoots that should have been trimmed or removed earlier....

Re: Port Jackson Fig
Great progression.
Goes to show that bonsai don't have to be super old or huge to be impressive. Nice little tree.

After roughly 20 years of growing bonsai, I reckon I might just be starting to get the hang of it...

Thanks trident, I was going to hold off posting and include a shot when it's leafing out.... If I get time I'll post one up.

Have been letting a leader on this one grow and extend to thicken up the top and to focus on developing the upper part of the tree.
Intention is to cut back the leader to leave a relatively short section and then repeat. I think the finished height will be somewhere near the 35cm mark.
