Hi guys, I need help identifying two trees and need to tap into your superior intellect (Have I sucked up enough yet?) As I have said I don't know my Melaleucas from my Don DeLeucas. It is not a species I have embraced yet. The first 2 photos should be of a Melaleuca Quinquinerva and the next 2, well....not sure. I have consulted Plantfile on CD but the resolution of the photos are poor in terms of matching them up with my own. As part of my horticulture course, I will need to propagate some Aust natives including the Don DeLeuca Oops!!! I mean Melaleuca.
Thanks guys

Guess what !? there could be a dozen different species. These come to mind, alternifolia, bracteata with all its hybrids, ericifolia, densispicata, diosmatifolia, linarifolia, nodosa, armillaris this one has a subsp called akineta, and wilsonii.
All these tree's have similar foliage, and all are endemic to the Eastern states. So you have some reserch to do EH!!.

Photo 3 looks like a M bracteata though it would help if you had a pic of the tree.
Photo 4 looks like M armillaris
If these are street trees and you know what street & suburb they grow in, the council would have a list.

The top two are Quinquenervia. The yellowish one could be Revolution Gold which is a common street tree in Sydney.
The others I don't recognise.

No.3 doesn't look like any Rev Gold of mine, looks more like Armillaris also I reckon
I really do wish they'd hurry up and grow.

I am no expert on Melaleucas, but I'm voting form Armillaris too.Grant Bowie wrote:agree with Armillaris most likely
