Gday all!
I am not long returned from WA, and I just wanted to extend my deepest thanks to Mr & Mrs Pup for their hospitality, and for indulging my curiosity and lurkiness at their home. I am sorry that I did not get any photos of the visit: I was severely time-restricted, and I was too busy engaging with Mr Pup and his collection to try to take photos. (Mr Pup has already taken better pics of his trees than I could have hoped to anyway.)
In my very short time with Mr Pup, I learned a lot - most of which is still sinking in. While he has some awesome big trees, I think the trees which struck me most were his minis. I now have a different agenda for a lot of my 'problem trees'...
Pup's unbounded generosity on the Interwebs is matched by his generosity in person. I was delighted to come away with a few rooted cuttings from his some of his favorite specimens, including Melaleuca rhaphiophylla, Melaleuca elliptica and a very tiny leafed Elm whose name escapes me at the moment (Hokkaido, perhaps?).
I hope to update this thread as the bits and pieces of info come back to me. In the meantime, please check out Mr Pup's Gallery.
Thanks again Pup Family!
Fly.
Thank You, Mr & Mrs Pup!

Re: Thank You, Mr & Mrs Pup!
You have it right Mr Fly Bri it is Hokkeido, differs from Seiju which people will try to tell you it is by the alternate leaf, as apposed to opposite in Seiju.
I was a great pleasure to have you visit. Fly any of you other's on the other side of the rabbit proof. I will get a special dispensation and have it lowered to let a few of you in.
Any time you come over just PM and let me know I am sure I can find a cold one in the fridge. Mr Fly left some here. He says he is coming back for the convention in 2011 May so I had better save them.
My pleasure

Re: Thank You, Mr & Mrs Pup!
It's actually (for some strange reason - probably because I missed the fact that there was a gallery) the first time I've seen your gallery Pup. Although I've seen pics of the larger ones, which are impressive enough, I'm especially blown away by the mini mels! (of which I'd only seen a few)
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm certainly inspired to make an attempt or two, or three, or etc...
Would love to come and visit one day.

I really do wish they'd hurry up and grow.
