Geez this is a funny hobby we all do. I mean how many other forums would get excited about a bit of life in a short, fat stump. (Actually - ignore I said that ... if we follow that line things could get very wrong, very quickly!) 
Mupp-dawg - it looks like you have life! Good stuff.
Hopefully you can get a result like KC&R's photo above and KC&R has let us in on a little secret too. He clearly substitutes a can of 'V' for liquid fertiliser every now and then!
