Re: How to water properly
Nah. at 1:20 on this video they show you how to water properly. It's called Indian monsoon watering and it's really the only way.

Re: How to water properly
When I saw the title for this thread that was the exact video that came to mind... one of my personal favourite things on YouTube.treeman wrote: ↑August 14th, 2019, 2:40 pm Nah. at 1:20 on this video they show you how to water properly. It’s not just the technique he employs but the commentary... as he sends a tsunami over that defenceless juniper he gives you bits of gold like ...
“You’ll probably wanna do this outside”...
I guess - unless you like your house flooded... but wait... shouldn’t it already be outside. It’s a JUNIPER, it lives outside!!?!??!
So good.
Apologies to the OP for ranting on his thread - hopefully the comic relief he gets from treeman’s link is worth the distraction.

Re: How to water properly
For a whole range of reasons I needed a laugh today and that brief interlude at 1.20 provided the light relief. Crumbs - that is serious water flow. So much for my technique which has me watering a plant, moving around and coming back for a second and sometimes third go at some pots ... just drown ‘em in one hit!
Tending bonsai teaches me patience.

My word i'd not seen that watering video before, i'm not sure why? Why use the watering wand if you're going to set the pressure to the same as a Karcher?

Re: How to water properly
You're doing it all wrong man. You need a torrential downpour. Go soak them in the Yarra for a few hours per dayMJL wrote: ↑August 14th, 2019, 4:01 pm For a whole range of reasons I needed a laugh today and that brief interlude at 1.20 provided the light relief. Ha, as soon as I saw the title I thought of the video from Eastern Leaf, (shared by treeman a few years ago, and still a classic!)
Sorry Gamauji, we like to have a laugh.
