For all those folks who have mentioned about having beds etc positioned on the ground, you weren’t Bloddy kidding about the comfort level. My knees are killing me :lol:

I used to lay on the ground beside the rows to check what was happening. I don't bother any more - just an occasional quick check and leave seeing what I've got until they are dug.
Yesterday I decided to do some pruning on the black pines just to make sure there was some compact lower growth when the time comes. Something went in my back and still very tender today.
