(Far less dramatic, but the Angophora Costata at the NBPCA gets wonderful green/yellow/brown/red bark when the rain hits it, just after the old bark has shed. Search NBPCA, "Ted's Angophora" or something. The bark is very seasonal, it's a real feature.)

I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.

Hi Deb,
I'd be interested to see how they go! But no, I haven't planted any as yet. Wondering how they'd go in Port Hedland weather...

Have you started any?

I'm still waiting for my seeds to arrive. I'm going to Cairns in August so I think I'll plant them then. Should by minimum 16 degrees in winter up there. They'll be better off planted then I think.

I've planted mine now. 3 little green things have popped up, not sure if they're weeds...

Please keep us posted as I am liking what I see! And it's not just the Rainbow Eucs but all others as well...
We're near the Karajinie National park and while I won't be collecting from there, I have seen plenty of examples of Yamadori potential trees! They look stunning (or is my taste spreading ... Like my midsection, haha)!

I think they're definitely not weeds. They'd be twice as big by now if they were. I googled eucalyptus seedlings and they look like them. Hopefully they will grow fast.

Yes I've only got about 3 so far out of 50. They are very small and slow to grow for seedlings. It's not humid enough I think.

Good luck with the seedling pps :fc:

I noticed a large one of these in someone's front garden the other day, hard to miss really, hopefully you can get the patchy colour effect on the trunk of these fairly young, is so should make for a very interesting bonsai :fc:

Ok, I have one left. It's now getting bigger. Are eucs trees that don't like to live close to other eucs? They need dispersal to survive? Just wondering since the germination rate was poor and the surviving tree is only doing well since the other sprouts died.
