Eucalyptus threesome

These seedlings popped up at a friend’s place yard (I think one from his roof gutter) and for a while I resisted taking them upon being offered many times I visited.
I was not convinced growing Euc’s was a thing for me. :lost:

Eventually I was persuaded as my friend is Eucalyptus crazy and really wanted me to share in the joy.

I have very little emotional attachment to these but anyways….thought I might try and keep’em little - for now.

Having had these for just over a year...This is a progression thread for x3 Eucalyptus “something-or-others”.

Hey Thanks Mark, These would've been good to go into your Forest Tale comp but they were already planted together sometime before the comp announcement. :(

The development has been quick and the new red leaves look great. I will be watching the progression with interest.

These things are still powering on, but I must admit I haven't had too much satisfaction from growing these.
How many years to wait before the word "saplings" will leave my mind? :lost:

Anyways a further couple of pics to add to this progression update. yes..yes..they need trimming AGAIN!

Compared to your original post they sure don't look like saplings to me! Like em!

This is what a mallee clump will look like - I'd be content. Lots of spaces, airy and graceful.

A bit over a year on from last update, and as suspected these totally refused to be kept small & I lost a few branches from trying so. I've had to let new branching grow bigger, otherwise they definitely would have carked it!

Trunks have thickened. Here's some update pictures.

I've thanked you for the post, but I can tell they're still not your fav trees. :D

From the couple I've been working with, I can see why. I do like the pictures you've made of them though, but will watch to see how you handle their armholiness...
