This is a Eucalyptus Websteriana (Webster's Mallee) I am starting from tubestock. It's gonna be a little while before it starts to become anything interesting, but it's a very cool species that I have not seen yet as bonsai.

Some nice unique features of this species are, red peeling minnirichi bark and relatively small heart shaped adult leaves.

My plan at this stage is to keep potting up in stages to thicken trunk, and then perhaps down the track cut back hard to stimulate low growth and start a multi trunk mallee design.

Natural leaf size.

In February 2020, I posted a summary I had compiled of Ausbonsai posts on eucalypts (https://www.ausbonsai.com.au/forum/view ... 78&t=28106). E. websteriana didn't get a mention, meaning I didn't find any posts on it. So, as you develop this tree, please post what you learn about this species. Good luck with it.

It seems very delicate, and the bark is wonderful! Please keep posting it. Yet another damn WA treasure that won't grow here...
