Grevillea priessii seaspray x Grevillea obtusifolia Gin Gin Gem

Common Name: Grevillea Parilla Pirate
Flower Head: No sure hasnt flowered yet
Flower Colour: Pinkish-Red
Leaf Type: Soft Feathery
Plant Type: Groundcover no higher than .8m
Frost tolerances: Heavy Frost

My backup Grevillea incase the first tree dies. Purchased Spring 2021. No work has been conducted on the tree as of yet. I was attracted to the fact it's very frost hardy and can handle hot dry summers. I will be focusing on getting the tree to put on a little more size.

Quick update. This parilla pirate has progressed better then the other one. Only issue is the big ugly root at the front of the base. This is a good reminder to sort out the roots early with young stock. As now it might not be so easy to fix. See how it goes in another 12 months.

Sometimes an "ugly root" can be an indicator towards how you pot it - if you lean the tree over towards the big root, you can bury a bit of it, and the rest makes sense with the dynamics of the tree.

Just sayin'. Lean it over, cut back hard... (Not too hard - I've killed a number of Grevilleas by hacking.)
