Progression Thread

Grevillea JUNIPERINA X Grevillea ROSMARINIFOLIA

Common Name: Canberra Gem grevillea
Flower Head: Elect
Flower Colour: Pinkish-Red
Leaf Type: Needle
Plant Type: Shurb up to 4m
Frost tolerances: Heavy Frost

Started growing this tree 12 months ago. Its been coming along nicely. Its been trimmed a couple of times. I trim off the flowers, so it focuses on growth instead of flower display. No wire as of yet. I only fertilise with slow release, I have not used liquid fertiliser. Next aim for the following 12 months will be to increase size of the tree.

Do you know how these take to wiring?
I ask because the lines are a bit straight for my liking.

I'm going off Ruth's information from CBS so they should take to wiring fine. I do need to wire before the wood gets too hard. :tu:

Quick update. Repotted this tree in December. It hasn't really bounced back to full strength. There has been a lot of die back on the back side of this picture. Its still alive and for a Grevillea thats a bonus. I plan to remove that branch highlighted in red in spring and maybe wack in a colander in the ground to add some size. Still plenty of time to figure that part out.
