hey im new at bonsai, so i have many questions.

anyways, i have acquired a grevillea and have pruned it to what i want, but now as it sprung all new leaves, they are huge compared to the size of the trunk and just the whole aspect of the tree. My question is, the if i defoliate it the same as you would a maple, etc, will the leaves sprout smaller next time and denser or will it not change at all?

Hi Pat and welcome, with continuous defoliation smaller leaves will come, with grevillea I think it should be done in stages though.

I mean by not taking all the leaves off in one go, take every second one off instead, as soon as the new ones bud, then clip the rest off.
