Hey guys, i found this topic very helpfull :D Thank you all.
Today i went to a nursery i was told was one of the best on the gold coast, i learnt its the most pricey!! :x and has no bonsai section!! :(. However i did find the native selection was good :) no amazing bonsai stock, but with a fair bit of work, i think the leptospermum i picked out could do a great "tough but gentle" windswept pose!. what sold me most was the ancient looking bark!!. I didnt know much at all about tea trees before today... they are definitely on my radar now! :) ;)
(P.S. Im quite sure i have a different variety to marleeney's Lepto above!.. mine has smaller leaves with more yellow coloring, is growing upright not prostate, also has a lemon scent to broken foliage.)
(P.P.S. how is your lepto going marleeney???)
I will make a topic asking for design opinions when the battery for my camera is charged....
