Hello ,this will be my first go at bonsai ,will be using a Leptospernum lemon scented tea tree ,bought from my local nursery ,I have given it a trim up and have bought some bonsai potting mix to go in . Does the pot look to big ,is it to big or not . Plenty more questions coming up Thanks John. Have tried putting foto up but it is saying file size to big ,don’t know how to correct it .

Re: New to forum
Welcome and it is interesting that you have gone with an Australian native for your first bonsai, so many congratulations for that decision.
I understand that there are some "instructions" in Wiki about re-sizing photos. I'm not the one to ask though.
I hope you enjoy the bonsai journey.

Re: New to forum
Hello John,
Welcome to AusBonsai
Regarding attaching photos to threads see below:
AusBonsai has a limit of 1MB per image, so we all must reduce our image's size before attaching to a thread.
A good all round file size for images is around 500KB.
A simple free app for resizing images is 'Image Resizer'. Once loaded onto your phone / computer it's as simple as right clicking on the image, select Image Resizer, then select a minimum size around 800px x 600px.
On a Windows PC, i generally use 'Paint', either will work okay.
Kevin

Re: New to forum
G'day John,
Welcome from another pretty new person. One way I have found to resize photos is to use the default photo viewer in windows 10, right click on the image after it's loaded then select resize. I usually choose the M -2mp option. Seems to work for me, as for any other advice on bonsai, at the point in my journey it would only be misleading
