Progression thread : Leptospermum scoparium 2 - Burgundy queen
This was purchased from the Big Flower, at Ourimbah for $9.95
The flowers are spectacular. I find repotting best done in a somewhat warm Spring, I don't repot in summer anymore. For this, clip-and-grow is the way-to-go. I always leave a good amount of foliage on the tree to ensure a healthy tree. I wouldn't cut back too far in one go with these.
I find them to be very hardy, but not with root pruning. If your goal is to reduce the root ball, I would set a 10 year goal and err on the side of caution. Only cut back about 20-30% every 2 years or more until you get to your desired size.
They thrive on wet conditions and aren't too fussed if they don't get a lot of sun.

I bought one of these after seeing yours. Love it, and glad to see it's still powering on. Mine is too.

Yes I had a lot of them, but gave/sold most of them away. I kept the best 2 for progression threads. They are such a rewarding Letpo, I'm glad you have one.
