Next step for this Tea Tree

Did some work on this tree over the weekend.

I do find it interesting how the main trunk looks separated or lifted up from the soil level. What is causing that? It caught my eye immediately.

It is a root emanating from the second smaller tree on the left and it is becoming more visible with age.

I may have to cut it off/out for the future good of the larger tree.

Your pots are so adaptable and suit many trees.

Need more glazes for deciduous trees as well.

Are they active growing tips? When is it dormant? When do you intend to attack it?

Hi Gavin,

It put out new growth about 6-8 weeks ago and I trimmed some/most off as I thought it would get hit by frosts. Mostly dormant now but during the growing season it is trimmed frequently. A vigorous tree that would probably grow all year round if fertilised etc.

This is a marvellous tree Grant!
And the last pic in August really brings out all of the intricate bark textures of the trunk. It must be enjoyable to view all of these detailts in person.

hi Dario,

I have pulled out some pots from my pot shed to find a slightly bigger pot that would suit it; but so far nothing seems right.

So It will have to stay as is for a while but I do have an itchy potting finger.

New pot and newly trimmed for AABC Convention; but as you can see it has shot like mad over the last two weeks.

Will have to spend a few hours very carefully trimming the tree to get it ready again.
