Can I get help identifying this native in my area, Castlereagh area NSW. Is it Mel. Ericifolio? Looking at it for potential "yamadori".
Thanks, Matt

Re: Melaleuca ID
Hi Matt,
The papery bark is reminiscent of Mel. Ericifolia but the spherical seed pod doesn't ring true to me so I lean towards it being something else ... what though - dunno!

Re: Melaleuca ID
That's what I thought. I have a Melaleuca field guide and a Sydney region field guide and wasn't convinced, based on the seed pods. Any other takers?

Re: Melaleuca ID
Plantnet is a great ID source for NSW. You can search based on species or location. Local area of Penrith yields 5 Mel species. a quick check of these gives M. nodosa as a very likely match
