Melaleuca armillaris

I got a melaleuca armillaris ( bracelet honey myrtle ) as tube stock a couple years ago and is now 4-5 ft tall I'm just wanting to know if I can cut it back to bear wood and it will back bud or do I need to cut back to a lower branch any help would be great

M. armillaris will bud well from bare wood so cut as hard as you like. Now is a good time for pruning.

Not all Mels do bud on bare wood so best to check or do some trials before hard pruning.
