oh to be young again
Oh to be young again and out hunting figs with my father. Climbing sheer standstone cliffs with hammer, chisel and crowbar to reach the best figs. But that was over 30 years ago and my father has been gone some years now and i am an old man. I still keep the memories of those days and of course all the figs we collected are still thriving .
Found these old pics and just thought i would share them and some momories
cheers Bonsaiboy

Wow, Might I ask who your dad was? I understand if you don't wish to divulge that.
Lucky to have taken those pics.

Great Photo's BB,
Love to see an updated shot of the ficus that were collected. Tree's like this are rich in history and sentimental value no dollar could ever achieve.
Thank you for sharing.

Yes , very glad to have some pics of him and of our collecting trips. He did not do Bonsai himself but loved to go bush and help us collect material. I have one fig that he collected himself that i call "Father", I think I have posted that one on here before. ( do not know how to but will try and post a link to that post)Hackimoto wrote:Wow, Might I ask who your dad was? I understand if you don't wish to divulge that.Lucky to have taken those pics.

Father as he is today, looks a bit ratty being middle winter but will be pepotted ( into better pot i hope) and defoliated later in year.
Other tree is a smal fig my Mother raised from a seedling and was originally planted in a rock. The fig has completely covered the rock over the years . You guessed it i call this one Mother

Thanks for that B.B. They are looking really healthy. Love the father and Mother idea. Honour your Father and Mother at all times.
