Yamadori box?

Post by rockkcorful »

Hello all, went for a dig today, this is my second dig so I am hoping for any advice or comments of improvement. Dug this from my Nan’s house I think it is a box of some type?

Stoked on the natural dead wood and movement and I can’t wait to change my mind 400 times on its future design.

I'm no expert, but it looks like a japanese box. Quite hardy and does well up here.

Mixture is 2 parts man made pumice 1 part Woolworths clay kitty litter, (seems to be the same as diatomite I’ve purchased)

Remember to treat box like pine. If you remove all the foliage from a branch it will die. Also? Box is super rigid so it is easy to break branches. Don't force branches, rather take time and bend little by little or else use the Lingnaam method.

Ah, good old Nan. Good looking bones and it has a future. Don't be too anxious to work it, give it time to recover and you will have a life time tree.
