Wondering if these were successful, Mel? I've not had much luck with guava root cuttings in the past....melbrackstone wrote: ↑July 29th, 2019, 11:58 am I've just cut some nice curly Guava roots and planted them....fingers crossed!

Re: species which grow from root cuttings
I thought I saw posts on Bonsai Nut where the 'knees' that grow on swamp cypress (called bald cypress in USA) are sawed off and planted but I can't find it again so maybe just wishful thinking?Anyone have any luck with swamp cypress roots?
I have not tried root cuttings of swampies but get some strikes from stem cuttings.

I would say go ahead and try. They seem to pop up after a plant is dug up in the garden and they certainly sucker freely from the base of the trunk.
Layers are really easy. Trees in the garden self layer if a branch is even close to the soil.
