Does Melaleuca Linariifolia strike well from Cuttings?
Hi all, was wondering whether propagation with melaleuca linariifolia would be successful from hardwood cuttings? If so is winter a good time or should I hold off until early spring?

Hi Sidd,
According to the Australian Native Plant Society they propagate easy from seed and cuttings.

Cuttings are taken in July/August of half-ripe lateral shoots with a heel.
Good luck,
Chris

Thanks Chris, appreciate the advice. Natives are a new adventure for me, and I appreciate your input.

Re: Does Melaleuca Linariifolia strike well from Cuttings?
Melas are supposedly easy to strike from young cuttings but don’t know if anyone who has had success with hardwood cuttings. I e tried a few times and will continue to try.
One thing you must do is keep the water up to them when they are repotted and or struck with cuttings. Springtime is best but not essential depending on your location. Would not try it in winter unless I was in qld or NT.
