Soltan put a post in about us in the West getting a 37 tonne Boab tree, transplanted from the Kimberly, to Kings Park.
Well some Bastard has set fire to the park and burnt out 40 hectares . No news of the tree but looking at the pictures,
on the news it is very near there. So we will have to hope that it is OK. I will let you know as soon as I do.
It was mentioned in the news last week that it had starting to sprout too. Pup

Re: Not nice
What is going on over there. You have mentioned a few times about the fire bug problem. I don't remember it being such an issue in the past?
They are usually pretty good at catching the fire bugs maybe they need to work harder??
I will keep a look out in the online news

It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

Re: Not nice
One of our councils planted mature palms in a large park and planted, as ground cover, grasses. So when vandals set the dying grass alight great damage was done to all the trees. Happily, over a year later, they are coming back... but the Council has not learned and the grasses have as well. I wonder if this mentality would be aware of their surroundings if they lived in nothing but concrete... We will consign them there in hell. In the meantime, I hope your tree wasn't in the firing line and that it establishes itself. If all is well please post a picture.
