im wanting to reduce the size of the grow box my bouganvillea is in, i had to a slip pot into a bigger pot as the old one was falling apart, and now its too bulky.
Is it too early to be repotting a boug now?

While alot of things are already pushing new spring growth I would hold off atleast another month incase we get a cold snap.

I will not do my Bougies till mid spring.
I treat them the same as Figs, ie wait till overnight temps get above 15 degC
I have an
airlayer to put on a big one of mine, and will wait till the first week of Spring to do that. Shodu then take off before Summer

my bougie drops all its leaves in freezing temps here even in the hothouse and dosent come out till september when it rebuds , so i dont repot till november at the earlyist here. you are alot warmer so early -mid spring will be fine for you.

Thanks Matthew, i was expecting mine to drop leaves but it powered on thru, read somewhere that letting them dry out over winter is a good way of promoting more flowers [come spring] has anyone ever tried this???
Sorry Gareth for the derail.

If your talking about the dwarf form, mine have always held right thru winter til I get round to spring butchery. The big one still ground growing in sydney will still be flowering after heavy frosts kill the top off!

I was glad to see this - I know to wait for warmer weather, but no-one I know has said how warm. Being in NZ, I have to wait a little longer than 'late in spring', I was searching threads to find out the temp range (°C) for best success - glad I found this!!!
(or that should be, 'warm!')
