Callistemon pallidus

I was at my folks place and found a nice Callistemon in the back yard that has been there for a few years . I managed to dig it up it's roots being about 2 ft deep and just as wide. It still had a lot of feeder roots but one side of the root ball was tangled in a circle . I put it in an old pot with some ground soil ( I wasnt expecting to go home with a tree) and gave it some seasol.
Will it stress the tree too much if I pull it out of the pot on the weekend and put it in a grow box with a better soil mix?
Should I cut it back now to help the transplanting or just let it be until it has grown .

it'll be fine mate, pull it out carefully and into it's new growbox, it's not likely to develop any new roots in a couple of days so ,

Callistimon are Quite robust and so long as you do not bash it around you will be fine.
You are better off a mild disturbance now to get in good soil rather than sitting in gunk for the next year
