Hi everyone.
I was at a mates place and his neighbour had this big what I think is some type of cypress half hanging over his fence. I cut a branch off to take some cuttings, but am having problems identifying it. The closest I have found through professor Google is cupressuss bakeri, but I haven't successfully identified too many trees through Google yet. Hoping someone can help?
I couldn't get a good look at the trunk, nor too much of the tree sorry, (too dark and I didn't want to climb the fence into the neighbours back yard), but it's about as tall, maybe taller than a high set house, blue-green scale like foliage, no cones that I could see, but had these funny looking lump things on the end of some of the needle/leaf things. (I don't know what you call them). And it had clear sticky sap. Sorry I can't give much more info. I only have this branch to go off.

Tim

Hi Tim.c , Mate try "Cupressus Arizonica" blue ice or simply google blue cypress for a few different growth habits of the blue species .

Cheers . Alpine

Hi alpine,
I'm pretty sure it's not Blue Ice. They look way to narrow, pointy, and dense. I did stumble across Calitris Intratropica. That looks more like it. Ill go around my mates place later this afternoon, and try get a pic of whole tree. Maybe even ask his neighbour.

Thanks
Tim

It looks like Cupressus glabra Arizona Cypress. Female flowers are green, in small clusters, at the tips of the shoots.
