I acquired this pot some time ago just because it is an old Australian made pot. It is distinctive and a bit unusual and I don't know what I would plant in it. It is by B F Findley and would be quite old now, but I don't know for sure its age.
If anyone can suggest a plant that might suit it please let me know.

Looks like art to me.
No need for a tree! Display and enjoy!

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Re: An Unusual Australian Pot
Bruce Findlay was the potter at Clay Express, I think at Cabramatta. I believe he was active as a potter up to the late 1980s - early 1990s. he then moved to Bungendore and gave up potting to do metal work

I'm going to suggest either a red flowering Callistamon little john, or a deep blue/purple flowering Wisteria.

I remember buying a pot from him when he was at Bungendore, but this one only came into the collection last year.

I think it's beautiful.
Have you planted it yet?
What did you go for?
I could see a pomegranate in there....the colour reminds me of the leaves as they turn.

Re: An Unusual Australian Pot
I have a couple of Findlay pots, very unusual glazes, one is purple with blue runs on it. I have difficulty finding trees to suit also.
