Only thing I have found that stops it is the different 'generation' of versions of operating systems ... But you should be able to transfer them from the old to the new, either thru your computer or the photo management program you've been using.
Email them to yourself?!? We have a Mac as a home computer so it's a sinch!

Looks like it must be done from Tapatalk as there is no way to select a file if you do it through the standard browser. That works on file locations which the iPad does not use.

Re: Test iPad photo uploads - help willingly accepted!
The issue I have with Tapatalk, is that it uploads to its own hosting service and then links the images here.
2 issues with that are,
If you close or otherwise lose that account or images there, they are then lost to us here and we see broken links that can never be fixed:-(
The other thing is they come in as huge images rather than thumbnails so that when someone opens a link with lots of those images in them, the posts further down keep scrolling until the browser finishing loading all of the images. Creates a shari user experience for those of us on slow links.
personally i do not bother reading said threads unless i have to as they are difficult to read and generate large amounts of scrolling if I can download them at all.
Re the initial query, you should be able to upload the images via the web browser / image upload process the same as on a PC. just select the computer client rather than and mobile client and you should be able to upload.
