Yes, what volcano is this? I found all of these pines growing on the side and rim of a Volcano.Grant
Mt Schank is correct but when we visited it was still in SA. Pines 1 and 2 were on Mt Schank and pine 3 was at nearby Mount Gambier. Mt Schank was GREAT and well worth a visit and climb. We walked all around the rim in no tim at all; its not all that big but it is the most recent vocano in Australia at about 5,000 years old.krazykangaroo wrote:If you were in Victoria I would guess Mt Schank but I don't know any of the ones there.
PS. If it were Mt Schank the pines woud be either P radiata or P pinea (unlikely because of growth pattern). Both these pines are used for the extensive forestry industry here.
