Beautiful. You know I love a bonsai in flower and I appreciate you keeping us up to date with the progression.
I see a small problem now though - trimming, shaping, ramification setting, carving and all that is so you may treat us again next year hahaha

Hi Boom64 , mate it's worth the battle to win the war and save another trunk especially when its this big . Some may consider it a waste of time or never be a bonsai but then I have to disagree .

I like big 2 man tree's and this fits the bill , I struggle just to lift the mother at the best of times now I just drag it around .

Hi MJL . mate I'm thick skinned so I don't offend easily but i have been know to bite back a bit . Alien it is and I see a character or possible character in every big trunk I collect .

If only my other natives responded like this I'd be grinning from ear to ear.

Hi Watto , mate I try to keep my topics growing , bit like my tree's . Unfortunately some get sold , others die , and I change my mind and reconfigure some so the topics end .

I dont think I will combine this with another trunk so there will be a few more updates along the way as progress is made .

While carving a few curl grubs surfaced so a re-pot took place also

. It just fitted into the only pot I had spare , now all it will need is another rewire and trim . Good things happen on rainy days

Wow.
You never cease to amaze.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Hi Biocs , mate a 5 hour marathon on the die grinder just to achieve a basic carving has been worth it. The pot doesn't suit but thats an excuse to buy another or maybe manufacture something else .

This has had a couple of workouts , a while back it was reduced in weight and girth to fit into a smaller pot .

Today it was re-potted rotated and re-wired into a slightly improved version of the original idea

As per usual it has many front depending on the owner .

It's shaping up well, Alpi. Always exciting to see what an artist can do. Captures great feeling from an old stump :) 8-) .

Nice one. Did those branches you plaited together grow into a single branch?
