Hey Daluke. My apologies for my delayed response. I have 10 plus cones picked up across this week but I have not checked viablity yet - indeed, I won't. Going to drop them off to someone who wanted them (Treeman) and if he finds a few that work. All the better. Safer hands than mine, to be sure.

For anyone seriously looking for Atlantica seed; go to Orange NSW and find the lane behind the golf course. The trees were full of cones oozing sap and these were the best Cones I ever harvested for viable seed. I grew them by the thousands.
Lovely as a trip once the restrictions are lifted maybe.

Both are suitable Jake.
Atlantica and libani both have much shorter needles so they tend to look neater as bonsai. On the flip side deodar seems to be much hardier and quicker to develop but even that's quite slow compared to many other species.

Blue atlas cedars are my favorite conifers. Im yet to own one simply as i havent put the time into finding a good one. Advanced specimens usually command a high price. Seems the Vietnamese love them. Libani have really short needles are slow to develop and seem to hate having there roots touched too much. Deodar are certainly much hardier.

The foliage of Lebanese cedar is really quite tight and needles generally are only about 10-15mm long on my older tree

I recently got a blue atlas cedar but after seeing Treeman's cedar I think I need a green needle one too. I was looking for Libani but have not had any luck here in Adelaide.
