Still locked in Melbourne and can only wish. That said, probably a bit far for me to travel to see your show anyway. I reckon it would be good though - I just went back a search a post you made and I loved this tree and was envious of the orchids behind too. DD, will your tree above be at the show?

Thanks Mark and Watto
Mark, that fig won’t be on show unfortunately. Had you asked me in the peak of the wet season - when that photo was taken - I would have said it’ll be on show for sure. But I have had problems with pests since then and they have hammered a lot of the new season growth too. It’s way too ratty for show at the moment.
I won’t hijack this thread with photos of my own trees, but will try to take some photos this weekend of the some trees I’m hoping to show and post in a separate thread. I’ve a couple of green island figs and I’m desperately hoping my temple bells opens up in flower by then... It’s loading up but I think it might not quite make it..
I can post a few photos in here from last year, but I just have some snaps I got on my phone..

Just a bump for our event on Saturday.
Exciting that there will be one in Canberra and one in Townsville on the same day. All the best for those involved in the event down there.
I also promised some photos from last year..
Here are a few GIFs from that event that we posted on our Facebook page this week.
Cheers
Dave

Sorry for the delay. A busy weekend and a busy week.
The show went really well and we had some really good numbers come through with a lot of interest.
We’re lucky to have a big space to work with and able to show trees from all our members at all levels.
We don’t have the resources to have screens behind all the benches but it works ok in the large space.. except when you reduce that space down to two dimensions in a photo. Because of that I have a small screen up behind some trees when I took photos to try and improve the photo quality. I’m not super proud of the photos I got with my phone, and I wish I could do better for the trees owners, but it at least gives me something to share here.
Hope you enjoy some of the tropical flavour.. (in no particular order)..

Hey thanks for all these pics Dave, congratulations on a great show! I love seeing all the Green Island figs, and nice to see the Wrightia as well. We here in Brisbane only see them occasionally, but clearly they thrive up there in FNQ.
Good job!

Thanks Dave, didn't mean to rock the boat. Appreciate the photos, most of those species won't grow down here so its good to see them.

Was trying to work out why you use chips as accents up there but finally twigged they must be voting slips for people's choice?
There's a couple of species that mange to survive down here but also good to see the warm climate trees used as bonsai.
Can anyone ID the trees with white flowers please?
and is that a Chinese elm amongst that lot (greenish pot)?

Neil the white flowered tree is Wrightia religiosa....water jasmine. Lovely perfume, and pretty flowers. They're very popular in Asia.
